Tour Facts

  • This would be the Spice Girls first and only World Tour as of right now.
  • Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) left the group on May 31st, 1998. Geri missed the 2 shows in Oslo, Norway and then announced her departure. She never made it to the North American leg of the tour.
  • Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) announced that they were pregnant while on tour in North America and the tabloids went crazy over the news.
  • The UK show `Top Of The Pops' did a special show with the Spice Girls live from the US.
  • The Spice Girls released 2 videos regarding the World Tour. 1 being their last show live from London's Wembley Stadium and 2 being a behind-the-scenes look at the North American leg of the tour.
  • On every date of the tour one lucky boy was able to go up on stage and dance with Emma (Baby Spice) while she sang, `Where Did Our Love Go'.
  • Pepsi sponsored the World Tour.
  • Every date on the World Tour was sold-out. The Spice Girls broke records around the world with this tour. Their concert in Toronto sold 15,000 tickets in a matter of 10 minutes. Their concert in New York City's Madison Square Garden sold 20,000 tickets in 12 minutes. The same results followed with all the dates on their World Tour.
