Facts

  • Her first two shows at Wembey Stadium in London (144'000 tickets) sold out in 18 hours and nine minutes.
  • Madonna has grossed over a half million dollars for every date she played on this tour.
  • Madonna's performance at New York's Madison Square Garden was an AIDS-benefit for AMFAR. She dedicated Live To Tell to her late friend Martin Burgoyne.
  • In Japan, a thousand troops had to restrain a crowd of 25'000 fans seeking to greet Madonna at the airport.
  • This was Madonna's very first World Tour.
  • Madonna had 7 costume changes during the show. All the costumes were designed by Marlene Stewart.
